Welcome to my Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) blog documenting my journey to be the first 59 year old double hip recipient to hike the state of Oregon. The goal is to complete the trip in the July-August time frame of 2018, just prior to my 60th birthday. I will Backpack some of the most beautiful terrain in the world along the crest of the lower Cascade Mountain Range from Highway 140, the beginning of Section C, just south of Crater Lake north to the Columbia River, the end of Section G, on the Washington border. The planned terminus is The Bridge of the Gods spanning the Columbia. The photo below and on the Home Page are both of Samuel Emigrant at Donahue Pass on the PCT in 2012 on the border of Yosemite National Park and Ansel Adams Wilderness.
