Oregon Is On!
I completed an MRI on my knee. There is good news and bad news. The good news is there is no evidence of anything Acute, meaning I didn't injure anything back in August that needs to be corrected by surgery. The bad news is I didn't injure anything that can be corrected by surgery. The MRI uncovered more Arthritis that wasn't visible in the previous x-ray. At some point the only way to eliminate Arthritis is to replace the joint.
So, the Oregon attempt is on for July/August 2018! Dr. Keggi will prescribe a course of treatment, Coritsone injections, Gel injections etc., to try and get me through the trip. However, nothing is guaranteed to work and get me through the entire distance. My body has reacted very favorably to injections in the past so I'm hopeful.
Time to start training!! I gained back 10 pounds because I have been babying my knee and not training. Now that I know I won't aggravate an injury I am ready to get back on the road. Six months to get into PCT shape. Stay tuned!
